Quick News Reaction 12/14/07
I have been hearing so much about sports and steroids! That's stupid that some of their strength has to come from medication. They should not be aloud to play for awhile. Barry Bonds should not have lied in the first place about not using them.
I wonder why more kids are allergic to milk and eggs!? It might have to do with the parent's health while pregnant.
That's horrible that they take any money from veterans! Troops or former troops deserve the best they can get.
That's great that they are giving 700 million to troops for equipment or what ever.
The part about the scientists and the ocean is interesting. That's to bad about all the plastic, it can really harm plants and more seriously animals. People need to take better care of the ocean and try not to knowingly harm the environment.

Tour Operator Project

Bahamas
June 15
- Arrive in Nassau and then travel over to Paradise Island.
- Check into my hotel called Atlantis Paradise Island Royal Towers. It is on Paradise Island. Paradise Island is a small island with a bridge crossing over to Nassau, the capital. It is a really nice hotel, but pretty spendy at $380.00 a night. It has 20 swimming areas, water slides, 3 mile beach, health spa, and 38 restaurants.
- After I settle into my hotel, I'll travel back across the bridge to Nassau to sight see a little. I'll stop at the Queen's Staircase which is a big staircase carved out of limestone by slave labor in the 1790's. It has 65 steps, and is one of Nassau's top attractions. The top of the staircase provides beautiful views of Nassau and the Caribbean Sea.

- Go eat at Cafe Matisse which is rated number one for all Nassau restaurants.
- I will be exhausted from the plane ride and everything, so I'll go back to my hotel to relax.
- Grab something to eat for dinner at a restaurant in the hotel called the Bahamian Club which serves steaks, lamb, prime rib, and salmon.

June 16
- Eat breakfast.
- Chill on the beach for most of the morning.
- Eat lunch and then go see the Cloisters which is free. It is a 14th century French monastery brought over brick by brick to Paradise Island in the 1920s from a newspaper magnate.
- Do a little shopping, look for souvenirs, and eat dinner at Fathoms which features enormous panoramic windows looking into the underwater ruins of Atlantis. It is said to serve superb seafood.
- For dessert, go to Jimmie's which is where people of all ages enjoy a treat at this old fashioned ice cream parlor.
June 17
- Eat breakfast.
- Stop at Coles of Nassau a store on Paradise Island that sells swimwear by Gottex, Pucci, and Fernandez Sanchez. Want to get a new suit for the cruise.

- Hotel pickups for the Robinson Crusoe Cruise are at 9:30 and the cruise starts at 10:00. It lasts 4 hours. You go to Remote Island where you are free to relax on the sun-drenched beach, snorkel over coral reefs, or just explore the island. When you get hungry, your guide will prepare luch for you.
- Get back at 2:00 pm. Next you will be going parasailing. This is recommended for thrill-seekers. This is where you are harnessed to a parachute and tied to a boat which pulls you 400 feet into the air, gives you a 5 minute view, and gentely brings you back down. It gives you a bird's eye view of the sandy beaches, turquoise ocean and multi colored island homes. Peer through the ocean's surface to see tropical fish, turtles and other aquatic animals. After the ride you are rounded back to the same platform where the people time off the parasailer and lands them onto the float. The average price for this is $40.
- Sit on Paradise beach and just RELAX.
- Eat dinner at a restaurant in Atlantis Paradise Island Royal Towers hotel.

June 18
- Grab breakfast at a restaurant.
- Go to a few more stores and get some souveniers to bring back.
- Board plane.

ChannelOne News
Section One
The article I chose to write about is the Teacher in Sudan. Many people are divided about how they feel about this topic. I don't think she should get charged with anything or go to prison for any amount of time. In every article I read it talked about what a common name Muhammad is. She told friends and family that she had never intended to insult or offend anyone. She told the students to pick some names to vote on, and the names that the the kids proposed were Abdullah, Hassan, and Muhammad. A 7 year old boy that was defending her said he did not have the prophet in mind when he suggested to use this name (that almost all his classmates voted to use) but simply because this was also his name. The kids would take the bear home on weekends and then write about what they did with it. It was simply a fun, educational project. Little did she know the world would get so offended. So I think that all the protesters are over reacting-obviously she didn't try to hurt anyone or try to insult the prophet!
Section Two
A fun game to play is Word Play. I got 9 out of 10. Some of the questions are confusing but they are pretty easy. I like this game because a lot of the time I enjoy doing word games. Another game to play is the World's Hardest Hangman. It's not very hard, but it's pretty long so I just quit after answering 20 of the questions. I got 15 correct and 5 incorrect. It is a fun game and as the questions it asks you names of celebrities. A few of them I have never heard of, but I could figure out almost all of them.
